Light Quark Mass Effects in Bottom Quark Mass Determinations

Recent results for charm quark mass effects in perturbative bottom quark mass determinations from Υ mesons are reviewed. The connection between the behavior of light quark mass corrections and the infrared sensitivity of some bottom quark mass definitions is examined in some detail.

Bottom Quark Mass and QCD Duality

The mass of the bottom quark is analyzed in the context of QCD finite energy sum rules. In contrast to the conventional approach, we use a large momentum expansion of the QCD correlator including terms to order αs(m 2 b/q ) with the upsilon resonances from ee annihilation data as main input.
